The Power of Menopause in Relationships with The School of Movement Medicine

Alexandra talks to Susannah and Ya’Acov Darling Khan, founders of the School of Movement Medicine about the intersection of menopause and relationships.

In this deep and moving conversation, Susannah and Ya’Acov talk us through the tender and transformative process of menopause, for Susannah, for Ya’Acov and for their relationship.

Susannah talks us through the deep surrender that menopause asked of her and of the surprise when the process asked her to step into a more traditional female role in their relationship and their business. This challenged her identity as a strong woman and she speaks of how terrifying this was for her ego, her conscious sense of self and her survival mechanism as a woman in this world.

In turn, what menopause helped to catalyse was an empowerment of Ya’Acov to step into his masculine power and to become the arrowhead of taking their work into the world, whilst being supported by Susannah.

They discuss the trust that this process required of each of them and how by trusting, surrendering and being moved by the process, they were able to reach a new tempo and new levels of truth within themselves and in the space between them.

Susannah and Ya’Acov share with us the powerful impact that menopause has had on the intimate part of their relationship and how by consciously engaging with the process, they have been able to reach a level of pleasure, ecstasy and cosmic sexual experience in a way they never thought was possible.

This conversation provides a rare insight into the potential that menopause holds for relationships and the transformation that is available to ourselves, our partners and our relationships when we approach it consciously with great trust and great love.
