How the Menstrual Cycle Radically Changed our Definition of Leadership

Leadership is a very grand word. And the leadership examples that are most prominently celebrated in our world today are a little blunt and limited, and often part of an old order that doesn’t have what it takes to evolve us beyond crisis.

From our decades of working with menstruality we know that menstrual cycle awareness has a radical capacity to heal our relationship to ourselves, each other, to the earth and to the Feminine.

And in doing so, we believe it is calling us each home to our own unique form of leadership in the world.

We feel passionate about really liberating the whole concept of leadership, by highlighting that it isn’t some distant idea, but something that is present within you, right now.

Leadership isn’t the realm of the privileged few - of a handful of middle-aged white men in dusty boardrooms. It is not a role conferred upon you, but rather a way of living with fierce truth and courage that is available to each and every one of us, today.

The kind of leadership we guide you in on our Menstruality Leadership Programme is rooted in the menstrual cycle and cyclical consciousness, it’s Feminine leadership. And it is self-authorising.

A leader is someone who knows themselves, can care for their unique nature, and feels supported to be who they are in the world. A leader is connected to the meaning and purpose at work in their lives and feels liberated to live and share that unique genius in the world.

And it’s undeniable that there is a real urgency now for each of us to step into this kind of leadership, particularly those of us who have menstrual cycles - so that we can reinstate the Feminine in our world - for the sake of our human and more than human communities and the planet.

Within this context, there is a deep and urgent need for menstruality to be fully reinstated as a bedrock in our culture. And for this to happen we need more of us living and loving our cycles, taking it into our families, communities and professional settings - bringing menstruality out into the world. Knowledge of the menstrual cycle, the power of menstruation itself and the practice of menstrual cycle awareness needs to be commonplace.

If you feel called to put menstrual cycle awareness at the heart of life, and to explore your cyclical wisdom as a pathway to your Feminine leadership, take a look at our Menstruality Leadership Programme here.
