Many of us are feeling called to a new way of living, creating and leading.
For you, the call might sound like a quiet yet unshakable faith in nature and the cyclical intelligence within you. It might feel like a bone-deep longing to be part of the change.
Perhaps it arrives as a blast of insight each time you bleed. Or it may be an intuitive knowing that is being forged through the fire of menopause.
This new, ancient way of leading is sustainable, relational, intuitive. It is rooted in belonging; it includes each of us, and all of us. It embodies the creative intelligence of nature; from the fertile stillness of winter to the abundant expansion of summer.
It's been hiding in plain sight for thousands of years, carrying the timeless truth present in all life. A truth that indigenous peoples across the world have long known and honoured. A truth that is being remembered today inside thousands of us.
We invite you to join us to illuminate how you can fulfill this call to leadership, in your life, today.
The good news - you have allies, right here, within you. Your menstrual cycle or your menopause process will teach you how.
Join us for four days of teaching, real-life stories and provocative personal exploration to unpack the Menstruality leadership skills that will help you fulfil your calling…
We are Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer, the founders of Red School and the authors of Wild Power and Wise Power.
For four decades, we've been holding space for the emergence of the cyclical intelligence and wisdom within our menstrual cycles and menopause process.
This knowledge is very real and alive for us. We’ve sat with tens of thousands of people, listening for the patterns, insights and wisdom that comes from their lived experience of Menstruality. What has emerged is a huge body of knowledge, including the skill set, that holds, nourishes and guides us as we live this new kind of leadership.
We’ve created this four day online event to introduce you to this new menstruality skill set that will give you the means to live, create and lead in a new way.
The Leadership Lab will also present the curriculum of our annual Menstruality Leadership Programme (starting on March 31st 2023) and we’ll be inviting you to join us on it.
The Menstruality Leadership Programme offers an immersion into this radically new approach to leadership based on a cyclical model of development: the menstrual cycle and the psychological and spiritual developmental journey from menarche to menopause and beyond into our mature years.
This is the only leadership training of its kind in the world — exploring the exciting new discipline of Menstruality, through the lens of 12 menstruality leadership skills:
CHALLENGE #1
Leadership is overwhelming
When our big visions meet our high sensitivity we can lose our ground.
LEADERSHIP SKILL #1
PACING
The art of following your own timing, tending to your nervous system, and living in sync with your cyclical wisdom.
CHALLENGE #2
Leadership is demanding
When we create things in the world they seem to demand more than we are capable of. It exposes us to our own self doubt or unworthiness. And it can be hard to trust who we are and the circumstances of our lives. Imposter syndrome can kick in.
LEADERSHIP SKILL #2
RESTEDNESS
The art of prioritising rest as a foundational (and lifelong) practice that restores restedness and inner resource - the experience of being connected to ourselves, remembering who we are and feeling trust in our enoughness.
CHALLENGE #3
Leadership invokes criticism
When we receive the inevitable criticism that comes with stepping out or standing for something, we become paralysed, feel shamed or defensive..
LEADERSHIP SKILL #3
HOLDING THE TENSION
The art of not reacting and being with our triggers, to move from ‘power over’ to ‘power with’ and reframe criticism as an invitation to evolve.
CHALLENGE #4
Leadership provokes us
When we’re constantly asked to stretch and step out of our comfort zone, we’re made vulnerable and can feel fearful and unsafe. It is easier to fall back into old patterns rather than evolve.
LEADERSHIP SKILL #4
INTEROCEPTION
The art of growing somatic awareness helps us recover our inner ground and find increasing safety in the face of challenge. And we grow.
Over four days we’ll be sharing four conversations with women who have dared to follow their calling and step into their leadership in this sustainable, embodied and heart centred way.
Each day we’ll reveal one of four menstruality leadership skills we’re exploring in this lab—pacing, restedness, holding the tension and interoception. And invite you into an inquiry around how you can grow these Dark Arts to support your leadership starting today.
We’ll gather for a live event on March 15th, to tell you all about the Menstruality Leadership Programme, how it is changing the world, and how it can support you, as well as stories from our graduates.
Each day, Red School Founders and creators of the Menstruality Leadership Programme, Alexandra and Sjanie, will share a teaching about one of the menstruality leadership skills a.k.a Dark Arts, and how you can embody it through your menstrual cycle awareness or conscious menopause practice, to step into your next level of leadership.

We’ll explore how to work with the Dark Art of PACING to help us tend to our sensitive nervous systems as we realise our big visions.

Wednesday 8th March

Live Call with Alexandra and Sjanie
We’ll tell you all about the menstruality leadership programme, how it is changing the world, and how it can support you, as well as stories from our graduates. Bring your questions about the MLP.
We would love to have you with us!
(We begin on March 31st 2023).
This is our 14th year of teaching our Menstruality Leadership Programme (MLP) - the world’s first leadership training designed for pioneers, change-makers, nurturers and creatives to realise your full authority and leadership through the power of the menstrual cycle and menopause process.
The aim of the MLP is to restore the initiatory process that is held within the menstrual cycle and in the arc of the menstrual journey from menarche to menopause. In doing so, fully name and illuminate Menstruality as a spiritual path and practice encoded in your body.
The programme is a supported space for you to realise the extraordinary levels of power that are available to you within the monthly menstrual cycle and menopause process. And to experience what this depth of power reveals and awakens in you.
Our aim is to equip you with a 'how-to guide' to access the true evolutionary potential of your cyclical consciousness.
You'll come away with a sturdy and sophisticated working relationship with your menstrual cycle or menopause process; acquire the leadership skills you need to feel held and guided by Menstruality—to unfold your unique Calling and experience the satisfaction of being your full self.
This programme is the prerequisite for our professional training as a Menstruality Coach.
When you join the MLP, a portion of your fee, will be donated to the Pachamama Alliance.
Register NowThe Pachamama Alliance, co-founded by Lynne and Bill Twist, was born out of an invitation from the Achuar people in the Amazon to work in partnership with them to preserve their land and culture while bringing forth a new worldview that honors and sustains life. Their programs integrate Indigenous wisdom with modern knowledge to support personal, and collective, transformation that is the catalyst to bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on this planet.
Hear Lynne's story of how the Pachamama Alliance came into being
through a vision she received during menopause.
